Reading an older building
- Age and reinforcement: much of the stock here is old — ask whether structural strengthening has been done.
- Listed status: renovation in a registered building needs conservation board approval, which shapes both budget and timeline.
- Parking: rare in these narrow streets, and it shows clearly in the price when it exists.
- Permitted use: if a residential unit is to be used commercially, check the occupancy certificate and the management plan.
