Frequently Asked Questions About Turkish Citizenship:

Recently, a law concerning Turkish citizenship through investments in the country was introduced. We will therefore present answers to some of the most frequently asked questions regarding this new law:

The procedure begins with the purchase of a property and after submitting an application to the property register. The application is sent to the relevant ministry where the value of the property is determined and the decision is made that the property cannot be sold within 3 years.

 

Secondly the application for a Turkish citizenship is submitted. When the decision is made, you get your citizenship and you can then also apply for a Turkish passport.

The entire family including spouse and children under the age of 18 can obtain a Turkish citizenship.

No, unfortunately adult children are not covered by the right of citizenship.

According to the law, the exchange rate is calculated at the Turkish Central Bank and the selling rate on the day of the transaction.

The process normally takes 3-6 months.

If you supply a power of attorney to your lawyer, you can follow all the steps from a distance and still get a citizenship.

The application can be made for property purchases and investments carried out after 20th of September 2018.

Anyone who buys a property in Turkey can make this application regardless of nationality.
